The Forgotten

Some time shortly after I realized I was going to embark on this journey of a lifetime, I decided to write a song to try and capture the heart our God has for the people we were going to serve. At the same time I was thinking of all those right here among us just waiting for that person who would point them to truth. I would like to share the lyrics with you in a hope that God would encourage you through them. Most of all I pray we would all remember that we are not forgotten by Him...

The Forgotten

Verse 1

Mountain tops echo
With tears from Forgotten
Who will ever bring them light?
Hungry and Cold
As long as they remember
Can someone show them what is right?

Pre-chorus

Cries for mercy carried on the wind...
Will move the hearts of ordinary men...
Sent to places they would never go...
With this hope our God wants you to know...

Chorus
The Forgotten
Lift your heads above the clouds
The Son is shining down on you...

The Forgotten
Raise your hands toward the Heavens
The Life He's Bringing you is new...

Verse 2

Sitting in silence
No tears to cry now
Hiding out right in plain sight
Loney and Hurting
Can anybody hear me?
Can someone heal this pain tonight?

I pray you would be encouraged wherever you are in life. Jesus is standing at the door of your heart, asking you to let him in. You are Not The Forgotten...

Where on EARTH is Bolivia?

I have to admit that before I ever thought about going to Bolivia, I couldn't have pointed out its location on a blank map (it could have been anywhere in South America...or, maybe...Central America? Let me think...). So it shouldn't surprise me that so many people have NO idea where it is...in fact, our dental hygienist thought it was in the Middle East and was concerned that we would be dealing with Islamist fundamentalists!!!

If you are reading this and don't have an atlas or world map handy, Bolivia IS in SOUTH AMERICA, almost "smack-dab" in the middle from north to south and to the left of middle from west to east. That being said, I am so excited about the opportunity of going there again with such a great team of people. I am especially enjoying our team training times on Wednesday nights and our prayer times together.

I'm grateful that God not only knows exactly where Bolivia is, but He also knows each and every person who lives there and He is aware of the current political unrest. All 13 of us are putting ourselves in His hands, trusting Him for everything relating to this trip!

And Now For Something Completely Random

Remedy for leg cramps from healthboards.com:

Try increasing your potassium intake along with plenty of fluids. Potssium can be found in bananas, tomato paste, ketchup. Increase this and your leg cramps will disappear in moments.

And if none of those are available, this from health911.com:

"For years coaches have given mustard to their athletes with leg cramps. Cramps are sometimes caused by a deficiency in acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter that stimulates your muscles to work. Mustard has acetic acid, which helps the body make more acetylcholine. Take a spoonful or two of mustard.

As with mustard coaches have given pickle juice to their athletes with leg cramps. Cramps are sometimes caused by a deficiency in acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter that stimulates your muscles to work. Pickle juice has acetic acid, which helps the body make more acetylcholine. Take a few ounces of pickle juice."

So there you have it.

Recipe for Success

I’m traveling to Bolivia with my best friend, my husband Ron. This man NEVER wanted to go on a mission trip on the other hand I couldn’t wait to go, but I didn’t really want to go without him. I guess God didn’t want that either.

God had his own recipe for success
He started with children in need, then add to that a man with a heart for children, He gentle stirring them together and what He got was a man preparing for his first mission trip.

My husband is the oldest member of our team and I’m very happy to be making this journey with him.

The Birth of "The Fly"

It started out pretty simply, I didn't want to go to Bolivia. When asked why I felt that way, the best I could come up with was, "I didn't want to be bitten by a Tsetse Fly." Let me just comment on our Friday Night Bible Study Group for a moment: Don't make comments like that if you don't want them to take on a life of there own because these people are funny!!! Before you knew it we were singing songs about the tsetse fly, making jokes about tsetse flys, and checking into vaccinations against tsetse fly disease. I for one was ready to get the tsetse fly shot when I was told there are no tsetse flys in Bolivia. I may get the shot anyway....
